At PROUD(People’s Responsible Organisation of United Dharavi), we are committed to improving the lives of the poor people of Dharavi(one of Asia’s largest slum of more than 1 million) through empowering them by building-up of sustainable community organizations to solve their community issues themselves through their active participation, democratic, non-violent and peaceful mobilizations pressurizing the local authorities to positively respond to the basic civic needs. Our efforts have already made a significant impact, but there is still much more to be done.
